After a few years of procrastination, I've decided to post chords I've worked out for the bridge to this classic, along with some chordal embellishments which I'm pretty certain in the song.

One existing version at OLGA (Paul Zimmerman's) has the basics correct. The other version (Douglas French's) has most of the bridge but it is not in the right key, and doesn't include any embellishments.

My notation is somewhat idiosyncratic, so here's some explanation, broken up by section.

VERSE:
Em(7) = quickly pull off (and hammer back on) the e note on the 4th string
D(sus) = a quick run of D-Dsus4-D-Dsus2-D
C(sus2) = quickly hammer on/off of the e note on the 4th string
F(sus2) = quickly pull off (and hammer back on) the a note on the 3rd string
G(sus2) = quickly pull off (and hammer back on) the b note on the 5th string

CHORUS:
A(sus) = a slow run of A Asus4 A Asus2
C(sus) = a slow run of C Csus4 C Csus2

BRIDGE:
Em(addF#) = add f# note on the 4th string, making 024000
B7(addF#) = alter bass to f#, making 2x1202
C(addG) = alter bass to g, making 3x2010
Am(7) = quickly pull off (and hammer back on) the a note on the 3rd string

The flourishes usually arrive "late" -- in the second measure of a chord that's played for two measures, the second half when played for one measure, and often just before the next chord change -- which can make them tricky to time out properly. But the payoff's huge, especially if you want to play this beauty unaccompanied.

NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN
Moody Blues

INTRO:

Em(7) D(sus) Em(7) D(sus)

Em(7) D(sus) Em(7) D(sus)

C(sus2) G(sus2) F(sus2) Em(7)

Em(7) D(sus) Em(7) D(sus)
